Fences and Senses

I ventured to the fence
Full of light and love
To see and sense
Wearing mist like a glove

I climbed, shrouded in fear
Pulled to that world
You were always near
Your spirit unfurled

I painted you in oil
A canvas of grey
Became a golden foil
Still vibrant today

Back, no longer cold
Two worlds borne
Stronger, more bold
No longer torn
