A day to remember the fallen and those that served, D Day, 6th June 1944.
On, on, in to sand and fire
Together, alone, cold and dire
I called for you, on that beach
Beside me, but out of reach
I would never hold you
In my heart, I knew
Still, I ran, faster, to the fight
Someone has to remove this blight
My unborn child, never seen
What joy you would have been
For you, my last breath
Hope lives through my death
As I fall for you
I ask a small thing that you do
Remember me, live a good life
Be kind, always, avoid strife
